The 2020 Maine Agricultural Trades Show occurs Tuesday, January 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday January 15 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursday, January 16 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center, Augusta Maine.

Kennebec County Extension Hosts Annual Meeting and Guest Speaker at Trades Show

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  This event is for people interested in selling small-scale home- or farm-made food products

WHAT IS THE ACTIVITY:  Growing Food Businesses in Maine/Kennebec County Extension Association

Thinking of becoming a food entrepreneur by selling products made with your well-loved recipes?  Join Dr. Beth Calder of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension as she talks about “Growing Food Businesses in Maine—How Cooperative Extension Can Help.” 

This talk is part of the Kennebec County Extension Association’s annual meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, January 15, from 4:30 – 6 PM, in the Washington/York room of the Augusta Civic Center (part of the Ag Trades Show). 

Dr. Calder will discuss UMaine’s food testing services, the pilot plant/commercial kitchen, workshops to help food entrepreneurs, and research for the industry.  This presentation will be particularly appropriate for people interested in selling home- or farm-made food products.  After Dr. Calder’s presentation, there will be a brief business meeting of the Kennebec County Extension Association.  Light refreshments will be served. 

The program is free, but please RSVP  by Monday, January 13, if possible.
