Commissioner Whitcomb recognizing entrepreneurial excellence, touring Maine businesses

Visits to Androscoggin, Franklin and Kennebec County businesses – August 10

AUGUSTA - Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry (DACF) Commissioner Walt Whitcomb will recognize several farm operations in Androscoggin, Franklin and Kennebec counties for their entrepreneurial excellence on Friday, August 10. The visits are part of an ongoing effort to recognize examples of developing and thriving businesses that are contributing to Maine’s growing natural resource economy.

Visits scheduled for Commissioner Whitcomb on Friday, August 10:

  • 10:30 AM - Nezinscot Farm (284 Turner Center Road, Turner) – Exemplary, diversified farm that is a must-see destination for consumers interested in locally produced products.

  • 1:00 PM – Dreamin’ Fahm (1244 Main Street, Wilton) – An exemplary array of all-natural products and goods, including eggs, raw goat milk and goat milk products.

  • 2:30 PM - Sandy River Farms (560 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington) – Practicing sound conservation and maintaining sensible and sustainable farming operations.

  • 4:00 PM - Stevenson’s Strawberries (271 Tucker Rd, Wayne) - Pick your own strawberries, fruits and vegetables.
