Emergency Snow Assistance Available for Seniors & Residents with Limited Mobility

Hi Neighbor,
With winter weather impacting our community, we want to make residents aware of Operation Silver Shovel, an emergency snow removal assistance program available to eligible Prince George’s County residents.
Operation Silver Shovel is a rapid-response service designed to help seniors and residents with limited mobility safely clear exit paths, maintain access to emergency medical services (EMS), and support personal safety during snow events.

🗓 Program Dates:
January 27 – January 30, 2026
Who Is Eligible:

Seniors 70 years or older (valid ID required)

Individuals with disabilities (ID + disability card required)
-
Residents living in single-family homes or townhomes
(apartments and condominiums are not eligible) -
Proof of address required
Council Chair Krystal Oriadha, in partnership with the County Executive, has secured additional resources specifically for District 7 residents.
