COUNCIL MEMBERS JOIN RALLY FOR KILMAR ABREGO GARCÍA

Council Members Tom Dernoga (District 1) and Wala Blegay (District 6) joined a CASA rally in support of Kilmar Abrego García, a Prince George’s County man wrongly deported by ICE in violation of a standing court order. The Council Members stood with CASA, Kilmar’s family, and community members at the U.S. District Court to demand justice and his immediate return home.

Council Member Ingrid S. Watson and her District 4 Team had a wonderful time at their annual luncheon with the spectacular seniors in the City of Greenbelt. Council Member Watson has known some of the attendees for nearly two decades! Mayor Emmett Jordan, City Manager Josué Salmerón, several members of the City Council, Sen. Alonzo Washington and Del. Ashanti Martinez also joined the festivities.

COUNCIL MEMBER IVEY HOSTS BRUNCH, ATTENDS 495 PROJECT MEETING, TOTS TO TEEN EXPO, AND 20743 COALITION LAUNCH
 Council Member Jolene Ivey (At-Large) hosted another incredible civic association brunch, this time with South County Prince Georgians at Topolino Bistro. She’s grateful for the strong turnout and thoughtful conversations. Additionally, Council Member Ivey attended the I-495 Southside Express Lane Project meeting at the Oxon Hill Library. She thanks Del. Jamila Woods for organizing this opportunity for people to learn more about the project and how it impacts Prince George's County. Council Member Ivey also attended The Better Family’s annual Tots To Teens Expo, a one-day event that showcases vendors and programs for families. Finally, she celebrated with Fairmount Heights, Capitol Heights, and Seat Pleasant as they launched the 20743 Coalition, an effort to ensure that the residents of 20743 have their needs prioritized as the Blue Line Corridor is developed.
