REMINDER- SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

Hello Neighbors, 

Have you applied for the Burroughs District 8 Scholarship for 2025? The deadline is fast approaching! As your Council Member, I remain committed to investing in the future of our young leaders by providing them with opportunities to pursue higher education and career training.

The scholarship is designed to support District 8 residents—including high school seniors and those currently in college or trade school—who have demonstrated resilience, leadership, and a commitment to academic and community excellence. Whether you’re continuing your education or just getting started, I encourage you to apply and take advantage of this opportunity.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a resident of District 8.
• Must have a minimum weighted GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Must be enrolled in or accepted to a college, university, or trade school.
• Must include an essay and résumé demonstrating academic success and community service.
• Must submit two letters of recommendation, one from an educator and one from a community or extracurricular sponsor.

Applicants must also submit an official transcript and proof of acceptance or current enrollment. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST. For assistance with the online application portal, email mgm.scholarships@pgcps.org.
