Hello Neighbors,
This Women's History Month, I am taking some time to learn more about the accomplishments and contributions of women in our County. From my Council colleagues, to the women in my office, to the women leading community organizations, non-profits, and businesses, I know that the contributions of women enrich our County and push us forward! I hope that you take a moment to learn more about history-making women this month and celebrate the women in your life.
In service,
Edward Burroughs III

Legislative Updates
I've heard the community loud and clear: the people of the County want responsible development that enhances the quality of life in District 8. This ordinance restricts the building of new tobacco stores from opening up within within 2,000 feet of another tobacco shop, electronic cigarette shop, or a retail tobacco business. It also limits their hours of operation from 10 AM - 8 PM. Thank you all for your advocacy and support to pass this important piece of legislation!
These two pieces of legislation support people's wellbeing in Prince George's County. CB-007-2023 protects renters by ensuring tenants do not see exorbitant rental rental increases and ensures people can continue to afford to live in their homes by limiting rental increases up to 3% annually. CB-006-2023 provides a tool for residents to improve their credit scores by creating opportunities for landlords to report tenants' rental payments to at least one of the three major credit bureaus. Together, these important new pieces of legislation can financially empower residents and increase class mobility.
