Hello Neighbors,
During this season, I am often reminded of the power of gratitude. When there are so many challenges in the world, it can be easy to get swept up with negative thoughts, overwhelmed with all there is to improve and consumed by all the work we need to still do to make things better. However, taking a moment to experience gratitude allows us to be fueled with positivity and purpose to keep pushing forward. Growing up in, living in, and serving Prince George's County is something for which I am truly grateful. It is a joy and a privilege to serve the community that has poured into me my whole life. District 8 is special, and it is home. I hope during this season, you take a moment to pause and reflect on all for which you are grateful.

District 8 in the Community
I was glad to meet with the Crossland High School Student Government earlier this month and hear about all the ideas to improve our community! I love seeing dynamic young leaders at work and the bright future they are working to build in District 8.
Our District 8 team enjoyed visiting the Arts'tination space at National Harbor! The Prince George's Arts and Humanities Council has curated a great space in District 8. Thank you to the kind employees stewarding the location and helping residents and visitors alike enjoy the arts at National Harbor!
I was honored to speak at the Building Trades Conference with many labor leaders earlier this week. I shared a number of the legislative wins we've been able to accomplish in order to ensure Prince George's County is a great place to live, work, and raise a family. The project labor agreements, prevailing wage expansion, and cracking down on labor trafficking are just some of the ways we've been able to support working Prince Georgians through legislation. I'm looking forward to our continued partnership!
Earlier this month, as we wrapped our last Council meeting of the year, we celebrated the legislative staff with a masquerade luncheon at the County Offices. Thank you to all the hard working people who support the County Council!
