GRAB & GO MEAL DISTRIBUTION
 The County’s Stand Up & Deliver program, a continuing initiative addressing food security concerns, will distribute free Grab & Go Meals this Saturday, May 28th, at 10:00 a.m., at Love A.M.E. Church, Capitol Heights Elementary School, 601 Suffolk Avenue, in Capitol Heights, and at the Maryland Shiloh Apostolic Church, 5021 Temple Hill Road, in Temple Hills. While supplies last. One box per vehicle. Please remain in your vehicle.
JUDGES FOR TRIAL BOARDS RECRUITMENT
 The Office of the County Executive is now accepting letters of interest and resumes for individuals interested in being appointed to the trial boards that will serve law enforcement agencies in Prince George’s County. Under the Maryland Police Accountability Act of 2021, each county in the State is responsible for establishing trial boards, which will be responsible for adjudicating matters in which a police officer is subject to disciplinary action. To be considered, submit your letter of interest and resume to pgcboardsvacancy@co.pg.md.us by Wednesday, June 15th.

COUNCIL CHAIR CALVIN HAWKINS KEYNOTE SPEAKER FOR ANNUAL M-NCPPC PARK POLICE AND CIVILIAN AWARDS CEREMONY
 The annual Park Police Awards Ceremony recognizes the members of the Maryland-National Capital Park Police, Prince George’s County Division for their achievements or efforts above and beyond their call of duty. On Wednesday, May 25th, the ceremony recognized significant contributions from 2021, and Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II was honored to serve as the Keynote Speaker. “Today’s honorees deserve our heartfelt gratitude for the demonstration of exceptional courage and selfless commitment to the welfare of every Prince Georgian. In humility, you were just doing your job – but your meritorious acts and outstanding courage command our salute.”
COUNCIL MEMBERS BURROUGHS, TAVERAS AND MEDLOCK HOLD JOINT LISTENING SESSION ON PROPOSED LEGISLATION FOR POLICE ACCOUNTABILITY
 District 8 Council Member Edward Burroughs III, District 2 Council Member Deni Taveras, and District 6 Council Member Johnathan Medlock, teamed to host a Joint Listening Session on Wednesday, May 25th, at the Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex, focused on proposed legislation before the County Council addressing Police Accountability in Prince George’s County. Constituents participated in a review and discussion about the police reform measure proposed and submitted by County Executive Angela Alsobrooks to the County Council, as required by State laws passed in 2021. Police accountability legislation must be implemented by July 1, 2022.
CHAIR HAWKINS RECEIVES AWARD FROM LATIN STUDENT FUND
 Council Chair Calvin S. Hawkins, II, was the honored recipient of the “Community Pioneer Award,” presented by the Latino Student Fund (LSF) during its 2022 Annual Gala on Tuesday, May 24th. The LSF supports Pre-K-12 grade students and their families through academic services and informational outreach. Chair Hawkins, upon accepting the award, described himself as a “#1 Fan” of the LSF, adding that the program is making a positive difference in the lives of children.
DISTRICT 3 COUNCIL MEMBER DANNIELLE GLAROS JOINS CELEBRATION OF BRIARS MILLS RUN STREAM RESTORATION PROJECT COMPLETION
 On Monday, District 3 Council Member Dannielle Glaros joined the Director of the County’s Department of the Environment, Andrea Crooms; Deputy Chief Administrative Officer Floyd Holt; and Mayor of the City of New Carrollton, Phelecia Nembhard, to celebrate the completion of the Briars Mills Run Stream Restoration Project. This project is part of the Clean Water Partnership, established by the County to improve stormwater management and improve the quality of water flowing into the Chesapeake Bay. Funded by tax dollars, this innovative partnership has completed over 200+ projects and grown local and minority businesses. 77% of the work completed on Clean Water Partnership projects is performed by local County-based businesses.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States to remember and honor the U.S. military personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May.
In observance of Memorial Day, the Legislative Branch of the Prince George’s County Government, and all County offices (except public safety agencies), are closed in observance of Memorial Day (except public safety agencies).
