Greetings District 8 Neighbors,

I want to welcome you to my first e-newsletter! I am very excited to launch this newsletter, which I hope will keep you informed of the many impactful and exciting things my Council Office is doing to serve District 8 residents. 

On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, I was sworn in to serve as the next District 8 Council Member on the Prince George’s County Council. I am so grateful that District 8 residents have entrusted me to represent their interests and my promise is to work every day to make District 8 a better place to live, work, and raise a family.  

It truly is an honor to serve the community that I love and that has played a huge part in helping to make me the man that I am today. Highlights From Swearing-In Ceremony

I really appreciate the outpouring of support and look forward to serving as your District 8 Council Member.

"Engage With Ed" Call-A-Thon

Next Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. I am hosting an “Engage with Ed” Call-A-Thon. I have had the pleasure to meet and speak with so many District 8 residents. I committed to continuing to listen to the voices of District 8 residents and to be responsive to your concerns if elected to the County Council. Next Tuesday is just one of many ways that I am following through on my commitment to be accessible to all District 8 residents.

Edward In the District

On Saturday, February 26, 2022, I was honored to attend the Expungement Fair hosted by Prince George's County State's Attorney Aisha Braveboy at the Forest Heights Community Center. Over 120 people attended the fair to get their criminal records expunged. Having previously served as the Director of Legislative Affairs for State’s Attorney Braveboy, I fought every day to change our justice system for the better. I know that having a criminal conviction on your record can often create significant impacts on someone’s housing, employment, and educational opportunities. I look forward to continuing to partner with State’s Attorney Braveboy to ensure a fair and equitable justice system in Prince George’s County.

COVID-19 Mask Mandate Update 

District 8 COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic

With mask mandates being lifted in Prince George's County and surrounding areas, we want to make sure everyone still has the opportunity to be vaccinated. St. Paul United Methodist Church, 6634 St. Barnabas Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland, will be hosting a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic this Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
