Greetings District 8 Neighbors,
On March 5, 2020, we learned of the first three Marylanders who tested positive with Covid-19.
Prince George’s County held a COVID-19 Day of Remembrance to honor Prince Georgians who have lost their lives to COVID-19 on Friday, March 5, 2021, at the National Harbor. The combination of the lights on the Capital Wheel, and the memorabilia video tribute on the Jumbotron, along with chairs displayed for each council member representing lives lost in their district, was sobering to witness.
Thank you to County Executive Angela Alsobrooks and her team for providing a beautiful setting that we could stand in solidarity honoring the more than 7,748 Marylanders, who sadly succumbed as a result of the coronavirus.
