 Little Known Black History Fact: Constance Baker Motley graduated from her Connecticut high school with honors, but could not afford to pay for college. She became a youth activist. A philanthropist heard her speak and was so impressed he paid for her to attend NYU and Columbia Law School.
Motley, who became the lead trail attorney for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, was hired there by Future Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
It was Mrs. Motley, who would later write the legal brief for the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education case. She is also the first Black woman to argue before the Supreme Court.

Councilman Rodney C. Streeter was on hand last Thursday, February 4th and Friday, February 5th for the openings of two brand new 7 Eleven stores in District 7. The first is located at 5410 Marlboro Pike while the second is located at 6620 Walker Mill Road.

I want to remind you of the process with which the County and the State of Maryland are disseminating the vaccine against the COVID-19 virus.
The State of Maryland is working with partners at the federal, state, local and community level to work through the logistics of delivering, storing and administering the COVID-19 vaccine as it becomes available.
For its part, the County has entered Phase 1C (see Phase Distribution plan designations below) for pre-registration. At this time, all County residents and those who work in the County, who are in 1C should fill out a pre-registration form. The County Health Department is currently vaccinating people in Phases 1A and 1B. Those in 1C who have pre-registered will receive appointments as they become available. This may take several weeks or longer. Those who have signed up for appointments who do not live or work in the County will not receive a vaccination at our County sites, and their appointments are being canceled. You must provide proof of residency or proof of employment at the time of your appointment.
The Prince George's County pre-registration site is for County operated sites only. For private and/or independent vaccination sites, i.e. Giant, CVS, etc., click on this Maryland.gov site to register.
The following individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine in Phase 1C: (provided those in Phase 1A and 1B have been vaccinated.)
- Adults ages 65-74 years of age
- Health and human services not covered in Phase 1A
- Public safety not covered in Phase 1A
- Essential workers at high risk of exposure (in alphabetical order)
- Food and agriculture workers (farms and processing centers)
- Grocery store workers
- Public transit workers (including transport for seniors and persons with disabilities)
- Postal service workers
Please note the County has not received enough vaccinations to complete Phase 1A and 1B to date. You are encouraged to pre-register so that when adequate supplies are received from the State you will already be registered.
ANNAPOLIS, MD (STL.News) The Maryland Department of Health (MDH), in partnership with Prince George’s County leadership, continues to conduct direct outreach to sign up eligible county residents for the Six Flags America mass vaccination site as part of a multi-agency effort to boost vaccination rates in the county.
