Greetings District 8 Neighbors,
The climate of our world, and sadly right here in our DMV region, is quite volatile. With Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday in just a few days, we should reflect on the equitable world he stood and marched for.
Dr. Martin Luther King's stance for equity covered an array of injustices, including the need for environmental justices. The fight for ALL to have the right to clean water, air and soil to protect people from environmental and health hazards continues.
Education, housing, health, food insecurities and economic development are some of the additional social justices that Dr. King fought for. We should not be having these same challenges in our world today.
