Greetings District 8 Neighbors,
Today, the Prince George’s County Council convened virtually for its final session of Legislative Year 2020. I was delighted to support and vote along with my council colleagues for The Prince George’s County Healthy Kids’ Meals Bill (CB-071)
This unanimously approved legislation will make it easier for families and their children to choose healthier food and drink options, when ordering kids’ meals at county restaurants. For details of our last session, Click Here
The Council will meet on December 1, 2020, for the Exchange of the Gavel, and schedule a December date to convene in response to COVID-19.
With Thanksgiving approaching next week, I am grateful to share that Delegate Jay Walker and I will provide Thanksgiving Basket giveaways in our Districts on November 21-22. We extend our sincere gratitude to our community partners for their support in this effort and throughout the pandemic in providing healthy food to our communities.
We know this year has been difficult and many of us are disappointed of not being able to have the traditional Thanksgiving gathering with lots of family and friends. You can still connect with your loved ones by ZOOM, FaceTime, or phone call to let them know you love them. Delegate Walker and I hope that we can provide some joy to you, for we are grateful for sharing the same community with you. Let's all commit to keeping everyone, including ourselves, safe this holiday, so that we can all physically be present together for the next holiday season. Remember We Are ALL In This Together, having to make the exact same sacrifices with every one around the globe. This sacrifice can be lifesaving!

I am pleased to announce that our continuous efforts and numerous meetings held stating the dire need of water main replacement is being addressed. A company has been retained by Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) to design the water main replacement for the Sero Estates Drive project. More information to come. Here is a picture of the area for this project.
