Continued Declaration of a Local State of Emergency for Prince George's County

 

May 14, 2020 - Prince George's County Executive, Angela Alsobrooks, today extended the Stay at Home Order for Prince George's County until June 1, 2020.

In an effort to make clear the current Stay-at-Home order for our County, the County Executive has Continued a Delcaration of a Local State of Emergency for Prince George's County, MD. 

By authority of the Order of the Governor of Maryland Number 20-05-13-01, issued May 13, 2020, political subdivisions are authorized to issue more restrictive orders than issued by the Governor.

County Executive Angela Alsobrooks proclaimed, "... that a Local State of Emergency continues to exist in Prince George's County, Maryland. It is necessary and reasonable to save lives and to protect the public safety and welfare of all Prince Georgians during this pandemic, by controlling and preventing the further spread of COVID- 19,..."  and has issued the following order:

Effective May 15, 2020, beginning 5:00 p.m.:

I. Stay-at-Home Order

    1. All persons living in Prince George’s County, Maryland are hereby ordered, effective as of 5:00 p.m. on May 15, 2020, to stay in their homes or places of residences (“Homes”) except:
  1. To conduct or participate in Essential Activities (defined below) or Permitted Outdoor Activities (defined below):
