Growing Green with Pride Community Clean Up
On May 1, 2019, Maryland Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Rahn and I was pleased to join County Executive Angela D. Alsobrooks at the launch of the County’s Beautification Initiative. The purpose of the launch is to announce a new coordinated approach to picking up litter across the county, new methods to address illegal dumping, increased emphasis and education on recycling and composting and a youth peer education program called the Clean County Cadets.
On May 4, 2019, the District 4 Team participated in a Countywide clean-up entitled “Growing Green with Pride” to beautify the County. We partnered with the Longleaf HOA, Toyota of Bowie, the Bowie Baysox and Prince George's County Fire Station 16 to clean Governor Bridge Road followed by a complimentary thank you celebration for all who participated in this year's clean-up efforts, that included food, prizes and entertainment at Watkins Regional Park. Thank you to all those that participated and showed their "Pride" in Prince George's County. #GrowingGreenWithPride and #PrinceGeorgesProud

Eleanor Roosevelt High School
Game Plan, Inc.
On May 1st I visited Game Plan Inc., which is conducting a Pilot Project Management Program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School for a cohort of 15 junior students to be trained by Certified Project Managers through content developed by the Project Management Institute. After completing the course, students will gain work and project management experience by working on a real-life project for Build Your Own Brand (BOYB) in Atlanta, GA.
WSTC Reappointment
The County Council unanimously confirmed my reappointment to the Washington Suburban Transit Commission (WSTC) on April 30, 2019. WSTC serves as the bi-county agency that coordinates mass transit activities for Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in concert with the State of Maryland and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The Commission also acts as the financial conduit through which funds flow between the counties, the State of Maryland and WMATA. Thomas Graham, a resident of Upper Marlboro, was also appointed to represent Prince George’s County as a member of the WSTC Commission and as an alternate member on the WMATA Board.
