2020 Census Update: Today is the Final Day to Respond!

Dear Prince Georgians:

Due to a recent Supreme Court decision, the U.S. Census Bureau will be wrapping up its operations for the 2020 Census today, October 15. That means all residents who have not completed the Census yet will have until 11:59 PM tonight to respond to the 2020 Census, either online at my2020census.gov or by phone at 844-330-2020 (844-468-2020 in Spanish).

As you may know, we have been working on Census education and outreach efforts for well over a year. At this point, we have already exceeded our 2010 self-response rate, and I want to commend Prince Georgians for helping us reach that milestone. However, we also know that due to an undercount in 2010, we have lost $363 million in federal funding that could have gone to our schools, healthcare, and infrastructure.

That’s why we are asking for your help one last time, to “take 10 and tell 10.” If you have not already, take 10 minutes to complete your 2020 Census either online or by phone. Then, we need everyone (even those who have already completed their Census) to tell at least 10 family members, friends or neighbors about the upcoming Census deadline. Remind everyone you know to complete their Census, providing them the information above on how to easily complete it.

So many Prince Georgians have already shown that they are Proud to be Counted, which will help us secure the federal funding and representation that we deserve. With less than 24 hours until the final deadline, let’s make sure that we finish strong with a complete and accurate Census count in Prince George’s County.

Yours in service,

Angela Alsobrooks

Prince George’s County Executive
