WEEKEND-LONG CLOSURE OF A PORTION OF FORT MCHENRY TUNNEL (I-95) IN BALTIMORE CITY

Expect Northbound Delays
One of Two Northbound Tubes Will Be Closed
Use I-695/Key Bridge or I-895/Harbor Tunnel as Alternate Routes

 

WHAT:    The northbound right tube (Bore 4) of the Fort McHenry Tunnel will be temporarily closed to traffic. The northbound left tube (Bore 3) will remain open to traffic. Southbound tubes (Bore 1 & 2) are not impacted.

WHEN:    Friday, March 4, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, March 7, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, work also may occur on Friday, March 11, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, March 14.

Northbound motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes of I-695 or I-895.

WHY:        Emergency repair that requires crews to perform a roadway joint replacement for both lanes just prior to the tunnel entrance to Bore 4.
