Dear Subscriber,

Today Maryland Governor Larry Hogan issued a Stay At Home Order for all Maryland residents.  The order further clarifies the importance of social distancing and doing our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The purpose of this message however is to remind all of you that even in these difficult times, the Port of Baltimore remains open for business. Transportation and the movement of cargo remain essential.  Ports and all of our supply chain partners play a major role in moving goods such as food, medicine and medical supplies, and general consumables.

Although all of us in the supply chain are considered essential, you should be making the most prudent decisions for you and your staff as far as teleworking and ensuring the safety of your employees.   We all still have critical and needed jobs to do for millions of citizens who depend on us to do them.

Thank you again for all that you do.   With the help of all of you, we will get through this.  As a reference, here is a link from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security detailing transportation as a critical infrastructure sector.
