Montgomery County Launches Third Solicitation of the New Business Training Network

County Soliciting Organizations to Provide Business Support Service Programs to Local Entrepreneurs, Businesses, and Nonprofits

Montgomery County has expanded the New Business Training Network and opened a third, ongoing solicitation for organizations to run “Business Support Service Programs.” This third program includes one-on-one sessions between Montgomery County entrepreneurs, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Applicants can expect a coach, consultant, marketing consultants, accounting consultants, and/or business legal consultants to help build skills, identify problem-solving tactics, and grow their business or organization.

This process allows qualified providers to apply at any time. Those meeting the clear, objective criteria will receive contracts, and work will be assigned on a rotating basis. The goal: a fair, transparent, and predictable way to participate.

Through this approach, the County is building a network of partners to deliver targeted programs that strengthen operations, improve financial management, support sustainable growth, and help small businesses and nonprofits compete for new opportunities.

“We launched this initiative earlier this year, and demand continues to build,” said County Executive Marc Elrich. “I envision this model opening doors for more small businesses and organizations in our County, allowing them to thrive. If you meet the qualifications and would like to help in their evolution, then I encourage you to participate in a process that creates fairness and builds local capacity. Our goal remains to have more businesses starting here, growing here, and staying here in the County.”
