Time: 7pm-8:30pm

 In this session, we’ll cover:

• What benchmarking is and why it’s required
• What information is—and is not—reported in annual energy tracking
• An introduction to BEPS and how it applies to condominiums

Potomac Edison’s Energy Solutions for Business Program is offering a series of limited‑time bonus incentives to help commercial customers maximize savings on energy efficiency and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction projects. Enhanced offerings include higher retro‑commissioning incentive rates, bonus rewards for completing Building Operator Training courses, a $500 GHG course bonus, and up to $20,000 for qualifying long‑term GHG reduction projects. Customers can also earn up to $6,000 for completing an energy assessment and associated project, plus a $1,000 bonus for completing a BEPS study alongside a qualifying project. Applications must be submitted and preapproved by December 16, 2026.

Apply Now for MEEHA Funding to Support Energy Efficiency Upgrades

Building owners are encouraged to apply to the Maryland DHCD Multifamily Energy Efficiency and Housing Affordability (MEEHA) EmPOWER Program, which offers funding to reduce electric and gas consumption in multifamily buildings. Significant funding remains available this cycle in the Potomac Edison service territory, and awards are made on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

Once an application is submitted, a Qualified Energy Professional conducts an energy audit and submits a funding request to DHCD on behalf of the owner. Eligible projects can include electricity and gas reduction measures, along with limited health, safety, or incidental repairs. To receive funding, properties must maintain at least 20% of units at or below 80% AMI for five years—a program requirement consistent with MEEHA guidelines. Owners whose projects move forward are also eligible for partial reimbursement of audit costs.

Participating in MEEHA is an effective way for building owners to advance toward BEPS compliance. Energy‑saving upgrades can help properties meet interim and final BEPS targets and completed audits can support the development of a Building Performance Improvement Plan if alternative compliance is needed.
