Ride On Receives 2025 NACo Achievement Awards for ePaper Real Time Displays, Ride On Trip Planner and Great Seneca Transit Network extRa Service
 |
The CP-13 model of Connectpoint’s award-winning ePaper Digital Bus Stop® displays, along with Connectpoint’s Falcon, a text-to-speech button have been installed at high ridership bus stops in Montgomery County. These 13" real time displays provide passengers with updated travel information 24/7, reducing the reliance of riders on printed or online schedules. The CP-13 model is designed for extreme weather and outdoor use, offering a high-resolution ePaper screen with crisp daytime and nighttime visibility. Weighing just 7.3 pounds, this lightweight option is ideal for easy mounting at bus shelter and on bus stop poles. The CP-13 offers a variety of messaging options, including real time or scheduled next departure information, real time alerts, and advertising images. The system’s power and content are remotely managed by the Connectpoint Asset Management System (CPAM™).
The Falcon Text-to-Speech (TTS) Button significantly enhances accessibility for visually impaired transit riders by providing real time, audible transit information at bus stops. Designed to meet ADA compliance standards, the Falcon can deliver audio updates on bus arrivals, schedules, and service updates in multiple languages and ensures that essential travel details are accessible to all. The Falcon TTS Button is equipped with a backup battery and an integrated solar panel, allowing for flexible installation at various transit locations. The Falcon Button's power, volume, and content can also be monitored remotely via the CPAM™. View MCDOT's Flickr album for videos and images.
This month, Ride On was recognized as a 2025 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award winner for the implementation of the ePaper real time displays at multiple new locations throughout Montgomery County. NACo awarded MCDOT 8 Achievement Awards and Montgomery County received 39 in total across several categories.
