We want to invite you to join us as the County Council votes on the Resolution to Affirm Montgomery County’s Commitment to Protect Reproductive Rights that I introduced at the end of July with all Councilmembers as cosponsors.
When & Where:
- September 10, 2024 at 12 PM
- The Council is expected to take action on the resolution in the Council Chambers at 12 PM (arrive 11:45 AM)
- Press conference immediately after at 12:15 PM outside on the steps
- Montgomery County Council Building: 100 Maryland Ave. Rockville, MD 20850
- Accessible entrance available on E Jefferson Street
As anti-abortion extremists push their agenda nationwide, we must fight back and affirm our dedication to reproductive freedom in Montgomery County. This resolution:
- Reaffirms our commitment to reproductive rights in Montgomery County; and
- Recommends that county agencies pursue opportunities and coordinate with each other to protect people or entities providing, assisting, seeking or obtaining reproductive health services in the county; and
- Supports a Maryland constitutional amendment to protect the right to reproductive freedom and encourage residents to vote for the constitutional amendment on the November 2024 ballot.
