Maryland Announces 2 NEVI Sites in Montgomery County

Montgomery County was recently selected by the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) to host two EV charging stations as part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program.

Francis Energy, an Oklahoma-based EV charging installer and operator, was selected by the State to install and operate EV fast charging stations at two County locations:

  • Colesville Park & Ride - 13504 New Hampshire Ave. in Silver Spring
  • Montgomery County Parking Lot 12 - 1920 Seminary Rd. in Silver Spring

The grant is part of a larger $12.1 million in federal funding the State received to expand electric vehicle charging sites under the NEVI program. The NEVI Program, created by the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, aims to build a reliable nationwide EV charging network. Overall, Maryland announced funding for 130 fast charging ports at 23 in 15 counties across the state
