Montgomery County Council to Hold Public Hearings on Sept. 10 and 17, 2024

The County Council will hold public hearings to receive testimony on new items introduced to the Council as follows:

Sept. 10, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.
Deadline to sign up to speak is Sept. 9 at 2 p.m.

Sept. 17, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.
Deadline to sign up to speak is Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.

Bill 14-24, Vehicle Noise Abatement Monitoring - Pilot Program, would establish a pilot program to use noise abatement monitoring systems in the County to enforce motor vehicle noise requirements, and generally amend the law regarding the regulation, monitoring, and abatement of vehicle noise.

Zoning Text Amendment (ZTA) 24-04, Dormitory and Community Service Retail (CSR) Overlay Zone, would implement recommendations of the Takoma Park Minor Master Plan, allow Dormitory as a limited use in certain Commercial/Residential zones, remove the Community-serving Retail (CSR) Overlay Zone, and generally amend the provisions of the Overlay Zones.

To testify in-person or remotely during a live public hearing at the Council Office Building, residents need to preregister on the Council's web page. Residents may also choose to provide pre-recorded testimony in written, audio or video formats or submit testimony by mail.
