MCDOT/Ride On Providing Cooling Buses on Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23
On Saturday and Sunday, June 22-23, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation Ride On will be providing cooling buses to beat the heat at multiple locations around the County. The details for the service are as follows.
On Saturday, June 22nd, 6 buses will be located as "cooling centers" from Noon to 6 p.m. at the following locations:
- Rockville Metro Station Westside
- Glenmont Metro Station
- Wheaton Metro Station
- Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center
- Shady Grove Metro Station Eastside
- Germantown Transit Center
On Sunday, June 23rd, 4 buses will be located as "cooling centers" from Noon to 6 p.m. at the following locations:
- Rockville Metro Station Westside
- Germantown Transit Center
- Takoma Langley Crossroads Transit Center
- Shady Grove Metro Station Eastside
The bus destination signs will indicate they are "cooling centers." This cooling program aims to provide a comfortable environment for passengers with water bottles available and the buses' air conditioning turned on for their convenience. Please stay safe and cool during these extreme weather conditions.
