The deadline to submit CY 2023 energy benchmarking reports was June 3. To date, over 80% of covered buildings have reported or submitted extensions. DEP will be mailing notices of non-compliance to the remaining buildings this week. Please contact DEP if you still need assistance to come into compliance.
Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS)
The County Council's Transportation & Environment (T&E) Committee has scheduled additional listening sessions on the proposed BEPS regulations. Upcoming T&E meetings will cover BEPS on July 15, 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Council Office Building's 7th floor conference room and streaming live.
As more states adopt aggressive climate action plans designed to reduce carbon emissions, there is a growing need for building operators who have the skills to understand and operate electrified equipment and reduce their buildings’ underlying carbon emissions.
Offered online from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, BOC Electrification and Building Operations provides an overview of electrification and examines how it is increasingly a part of a building operator’s responsibility. The next class is Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 9 am to 4 pm, on Zoom. Register here.
The EmPOWER Operations and Maintenance Training incentive may be able to cover the costs of this training.
