April is Drive Electric Earth Month

GreenFest 2024

There are many different events throughout Montgomery County to celebrate Earth Month in April. In fact there are events all across the country associated with Drive Electric Earth Month.

Here's what's coming up:

Ride N' Drive Electric Earth Day at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets

Experience the future of driving at the Ride N' Drive event at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets, open to residents and the general public. Sheehy Ford, Rivian, and Tesla are eager to offer test drives, giving you a firsthand experience at the latest in electric vehicle (EV) technology. Additionally, a nearby condominium boasts six Level-2 charging stations, and the Clarksburg Premium Outlets feature six DC fast charging (DCFC) stalls. This is a perfect opportunity for attendees to explore and experience EV charging capabilities.

Montgomery County Energy Summit

April 15-16, 2024

There will be two EV sessions at the 2024 Energy Summit. On Day 1, DEP will present on process and incentives for install EV charging at your property. On Day 2, an expert panel will discuss how and why to prepare your property for electric transportation. 

EVs at Rockville Science Day

The Electric Vehicle Association of Greater Washington DC (EVADC) will have EV's on display, hosted by their owners, as part Rockville Science Day, which has a huge variety of science and technology-related exhibits, activities, games and demos. Answer your questions about EV's from people who drive EV's!  Drop-in EV's are welcome as space allows.

Montgomery County Greenfest

Saturday, April 27, 2024, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm 
Blackrock Center for the Arts, Germantown, MD

The Montgomery County GreenFest is the largest annual environmental festival in Montgomery County, MD. GreenFest is organized by a coalition of public and non-profit partners. This year, GreenFest will feature exhibits of electric vehicles and EV charging.


Montgomery County Offers Eligible Properties for NEVI Proposals

2024 NEVI Target Areas

Montgomery County, Maryland intends to make certain County properties available to lease for installing and operating electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program. 

The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) due April 10, 2024.  Montgomery County will initiate a land disposition process to make these properties available to lease to vendors that are selected by MDOT.

  • Briggs Chaney Park and Ride Lot, Gateshead Manor Way, Silver Spring, MD 20904
  • Colesville Park and Ride Lot. 13504 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD
