Apartment communities in Montgomery County are installing EV charging infrastructure and making it less scary for residents to go electric.
The Centre at Silver Spring will celebrate the launch of 4 new Level 2 charging ports on October 28 with a "Frunk or Treat" event. Residents will have a chance to talk to EV owners about EV charging and learn about ways to save energy and money at home and on their commute. The event will feature Halloween costumes, spooky prizes, and trick-or-treating for kids. Volunteer EV drivers and members of the community are invited to join in the fun, decorate their "frunks," and hand out Halloween treats.
This project was made possible through the Montgomery County Green Bank's Affordable Multi-Family Housing Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Program (EV-CIP), supported by a GM Philanthropic Grant to provide 0% interest financing and no out-of-pocket costs.
Contact Brian Booher at Montgomery County DEP for questions.
