Join us for an exciting afternoon in Veterans Plaza on Friday, September 22nd from 2 - 7 PM for Buckets & Beats: The Silver Spring Youth Block Party.
Silver Spring has so much to offer and we want to make sure our young people aren’t forgotten. I am proud to convene this event to bring together our community and find ways to productively engage with our young people, especially those who may not have engaged with existing programming. I am excited to share that Paul Monteiro, the Secretary of the Department of Service and Civic Innovation, will be attending the Youth Block Party to represent Governor Moore and show support for our shared interest in youth programming.
Join us for a Silver Spring Regional 3 v 3 High School Basketball tournament. Participants should register to participate in the basketball tournament as there will be limited walk-up spots. We’ll also have a pop-up skate park for those who like to roll through downtown, and a live community mural painting for the more artistically-inclined. Enjoy tunes from our DJ all day and meet some local organizations with opportunities to get involved! Stay until the end for our awards ceremony and prize raffle.

I cannot wait to see our vibrant youth community in Veterans Plaza next week and encourage everyone to share this event with the young people in their life.

About our testing clinics
We offer testing to anyone who lives, works, or regularly visits Montgomery County.
We test people of all ages. If you bring young children, we may ask you to help them get tested.
Testing is free. If you have insurance, we will ask for your information, but there are no co-pays or deductibles. See our Notice of Privacy Practices for the information we collect.
We do not require a government ID or a doctor's order.
Our clinics provide nasal swab tests. You take the sample yourself. The tests are molecular tests, also called PCR tests. These diagnostic tests detect genetic material of the COVID-19 virus using a lab technique called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). We do not offer antibody testing at our clinics.
