Fiscal Year 2023 Budget Highlights
Today, we approved the County’s $6.3 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2023. Thank you to all the passionate residents and committed community organizations who engaged in the process. The final budget – and our County that it must support – will be stronger as a result. The pandemic exposed many challenges in our community, but it also made us rethink how we do business and how we must adapt internally and partner externally beyond government to provide residents with the services and supports they need to not only survive but thrive. The graphic below details some highlights of this budget of particular interest to District 1. I am proud to say that we were able to fulfill our fiscal obligations without raising taxes on our residents who are still recovering from the pandemic. Of course, a single number and short description can’t possibly capture the magnitude of investment and impact these programs have, but our hope is that this graphic will demonstrate the value and values we worked hard to uphold in this budget process.
