The Katz Update: Pfizer Vaccine for 12 to 15 year-olds!

May 14, 2021

Friends,

This week we received confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that youth ages 12 to 15 years of age can receive the Pfizer vaccine. This is great step toward getting more of our residents vaccinated!

Therefore, our County is working to schedule evening and weekend youth vaccine clinics to accommodate parents' and guardians' work schedules. Also, this age group will be able to receive doses at any sites in the County that offer the Pfizer vaccine.

STUDENT ADVISORY GROUP

ll

I want to thank all the amazing students from Montgomery College and the Universities of Shady Grove who participated in my 2020-2021 Student Advisory Group. Based on their requests, we hosted four outstanding speakers for our final session. Those speakers included a former middle school and high school principal; a former educator turned nurse and business owner; a former musician with the National Philharmonic and a former Clinton White House staffer. All the students were engaged, interested and curious about the careers of our speakers as well as their own future pathways. It was a terrific getting to know the students and we look forward to staying in touch!!

DISTRICT 3 HISTORICAL NOTE

LL

Robb-Higgins-Ward House

101 N. Adams Street, Rockville, MD

One of the two existing 18th century structures in Rockville, this house combines 18th, 19th & 20th century vernacular styles and building methods. It includes an 18th century kitchen building. There is also a two-story half house of early date. These two parts are now connected to later additions, the Adams Street facade having some Colonial Revival detailing. Despite alterations, including the enclosure of the original full-width porch, the house is an excellent representative of the early days of Rockville.
