Dear Resident,
On April 12, all Maryland residents 16+ will be eligible to get vaccinated at all vaccination locations.
You may pre-register for an appointment with the State and the County, and you’ll be invited when there is a slot for you, or you can seek an appointment at a pharmacy.
If you know someone who cannot leave their house for a vaccination appointment due to mobility and health challenges, please urge them to pre-register for a County appointment and in the registration, indicate that they have transportation problems (you may also pre-register for them if they request that).
Montgomery County HHS is increasing the number of home visits.
If you are a Federal critical infrastructure worker, there is a new mass vaccination site for you at NIST. My thanks to those workers in this category who reached out to me -- your feedback, which I shared with the White House/OMB, was helpful to making this happen.
Finally, recall in my recent email that I projected that based on 5,500 County residents getting vaccinated daily, roughly 65% of eligible County residents would receive at least a first dose by the middle of May.
In fact, as supply continues to increase, the daily average has been above 6,500 county residents getting a first dose. Therefore it seems reasonable to expect that pretty much any adult who wants an appointment should be able to get one in April, if you are wondering.
At the same time, the variants have arrived, and cases have plateaued at the “substantial” transmission level. That means the risk is still high out there.
Please continue to mask and social distance while we ride this out.
Hans
