All Adults Eligible for the Vaccine Now

Exciting news! Yesterday the State announced all Marylanders aged 16 and older can get vaccinated at any State mass vaccination sites starting today. We suggest registering using the State pre-registration site and phone number (855-634-6829) in addition to the County's pre-registration site. Beginning Monday April 12th, Marylanders aged 16 and older will be eligible for a vaccine from all providers so you can look for appointments at those private sites as well. For Marylanders 16 or 17 years of age, the only approved vaccine for this group is Pfizer so please be sure to use a provider that has this specific vaccine.

For the Montgomery College Germantown Campus mass vaccination site, there is a free County Ride On shuttle from the Shady Grove Metro Station. If you need other transportation options and assistance, please note that when you pre-register with the County. Keep in mind that Montgomery College Germantown Campus vaccinations are administered indoors and this is not a drive-through location. The State does have walk-up sites that do not require an appointment such as Salisbury and Hagerstown. Next week, the M&T Stadium location will join the list as they begin accepting walk-ins as well.

At this time, 41.6% of Marylanders age 18 and older—and 76.2% of Marylanders age 65 and older—have received a vaccine. For those vaccinated, please be sure to cancel your pre-registration with the County using this link. Also we ask that you continue to wear your mask and practice social distancing while in the community. Covid cases have increased in recent weeks after a long downturn and while our County's numbers did not increase as much as the rest of the State, we must continue to fight the disease as others in our community wait for their vaccine appointments. If helpful, the CDC's comprehensive guidance for vaccinated individuals can be found here

On March 26th the Council updated the Board of Health regulation governing current restrictions and the details are outlined on the County's reopening site. For any questions or requests for an exception, please use the County portal. As residents continue to get vaccinated, additional decisions on reopening will be made as the County steadily moves towards reopening and back to more normal pre-pandemic activities. Please continue to assist your friends and neighbors if they need help pre-registering or finding vaccine appointments. We are making significant progress but with cases rising and variant strains spreading, we must remain vigilant in our efforts against the virus and continue to lift each other up during these unprecedented times.
