VACCINE DATA
As of March 8, over 187,000 residents in Montgomery County have received their 1st dose, which is the most in the state and nearly 94,000 residents have received their 2nd dose. These numbers reflect doses provided by hospitals, pharmacies, and local health departments in the State of Maryland.
Nearly 18% of Montgomery County residents have received their 1st dose and almost 9% have been fully vaccinated. These numbers reflect doses provided by hospitals, pharmacies, and local health departments in the State of Maryland.
The County made significant progress vaccinating residents who are 75 or older through the County’s health department and the County has begun scheduling residents who are between 65 and 74, as well as essential workers in Priority Group 1B, tiers 1 and 2.
Our County has been focused on vaccinating residents 75+ because data shows that people who are 80+ have died from COVID at four times the rate of people 70 to 79. People 70 to 79 died at three times the rate of people 60 to 69.
VACCINE DISTRIBUTION
MONTGOMERY COUNTY (as of 3/8/21)
MASS VACCINATION SITE
The Council continues to strongly advocate for a mass vaccination site in Montgomery County. As the state’s most populous and diverse county, our County should have a mass vaccination site for our residents. The County is considering many sites such as the Agricultural Fairgrounds in Gaithersburg and the Germantown Campus of Montgomery College. As the number of vaccines increase, we are asking the state of Maryland to commit to a site in Montgomery County!!
