Home Alone: Left at Council

Wishing You a Happy Holiday Season

It’s been a fantastic 2019, and I continue to be humbled by the opportunity to represent the only community I’ve ever called home on the Montgomery County Council. I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve accomplished together focused on our economic competitiveness, housing affordability, quality of life, financial oversight, and fiscal sustainability. But what I’ve appreciated the most in this first year is something I’ve learned by spending a lot of time outside the Council chambers: the talent, creativity, and empathy for others that binds and defines us as a community.

In the spirit of the holidays, we had some fun creating this video with my friend and colleague, Council President Sidney Katz. Hope you enjoy it!

Holiday

Every day in this job is an honor and a privilege, and reminds me how fortunate we are to live in a community with endless possibilities.

Here's to family, friends, and community, and to working together in 2020 to build an even brighter future.

Sincerely,

Spreading Holiday Cheer with Local Heroes

Video

I was inspired recently after joining the Montgomery County Police Department, Montgomery County Fire Rescue Service, and Rockville Police at Target for “Heroes and Helpers.” Last year I joined as 17 children were invited to join our local heroes for a holiday shopping spree. This year, the program was expanded with the generous support of the Police Foundation to share the thrill with more than 100 children from across the County. It’s an amazing program and heartwarming example of the best of our public safety professionals who volunteer their own time to spread holiday cheer to those in need.
