October 18, 2019

My deepest condolences for the family and loved ones of Congressman Elijah Cummings who passed away on October 17th. Representative Cummings represented Maryland's 7th District in the House of Representatives. He was a true public servant and hero to his district, the state of Maryland and the United States of America. We will not forget his passion, integrity and commitment to serving others.

Katz in the Community

Women Who Care

Here I am with Judith Clark at the Women Who Care Ministries' (WWCM) 13th Annual Restore the Joy Empowerment Luncheon. The informative event included inspirational performances, a resource fair, expert panel discussions and more! WWCM is a faith-inspired, community outreach non-profit based in Montgomery Village MD.

Twinbrook

I was delighted to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the  Twinbrook Recreation Center and Annex!! There were lots of family fun activities to participate in. Twinbrook Recreation Center offers a full gymnasium, outdoor basketball courts and after school programs. It is a terrific recreation center and wonderful resource for the entire family.

Unity Walk

The Faith Community Advisory Council, its partners, and participating congregations sponsored the Montgomery County Unity Walk. The theme was "Many Faiths One Community." I was very pleased to participate in this important event. There were opportunities to tour houses of worship and learn about diverse faith communities.

FJC

My wife Sally and I attended the Montgomery County Family Justice Center Foundation's 10th Annual Benefit. It was a wonderful evening filled with celebration and joy. The Family Justice Center promotes safety, well-being, and healing for victims of family violence. The FJC has helped approximately 12,000 survivor families since its opening.
