COUNCILMEMBER EVAN GLASS LAUNCHES LGBTQ PRIDE EVENTS ACROSS MONTGOMERY COUNTY

ROCKVILLE, MD – Today Councilmember Evan Glass (At-Large) announces a series of LGBTQ events that he will be hosting throughout Montgomery County during the month of June to celebrate Pride. Events range from a Pride flag raising with the County Executive to a drag performance at LGTBQ-owned Denizens brewery to an LGBTQ family day at Glen Echo Park. Pride is something that should be celebrated across our community. Watch my video announcement here

“As the County’s first LGBTQ Councilmember, it is an honor for me to lead events that are inclusive and representative of our diverse community,” said Councilmember Evan Glass. “Members of the community, friends and allies have all been waiting years to see Pride events hosted right here in Montgomery County. Being part of the LGBTQ family is no longer reserved for gay folks who live in DC; we have a vibrant LGBTQ community here at home. These events reflect that demand.”

“With the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots just a few weeks away, it is important to reflect on how far we have come as a community and how far we still have to go. I hope Pride 2019 is a starting point to have these conversations and create spaces for residents to connect with each other. If you are an LGBTQ person living in Montgomery County, know that you have a whole community behind you,” Glass said.
