Free Deck Maintenance Inspections Over 180

The DPS extension of free deck maintenance inspections resulted in almost 200 requests and continues to climb. DPS inspectors are working hard to ensure residents are aware of the safety of their existing decks.
It's important to be sure that all contractors are licensed, and new decks are permitted to ensure their safety.

DPS Hosts Free Fire Permit Clinics
The Department of Permitting Services is offering free Fire Code Compliance (FCC) permit clinics on Tuesdays from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Staff will be available to assist with the permitting process and the electronic renewal system. The clinics are free, however space is limited register early.

Deadline Approaches for Comments on Executive Regulation
The proposed Executive Regulation 22-19 for schedule of fees for Fire Safety Code Permits, Code Modifications, Inspections and Licenses for Fire Code Compliance will continue to receive comments until June 30, 2019.

DPS Fees & Impact Taxes Increase
Effective July 1, 2019
Enterprise Fund Stabilization Factor (EFSF) is calculated each year and
is applied to each fee on July 1 of the Fiscal Year.
Each fee for DPS services, including those in Executive Regulations I 1-17, 26-16,
20-07AM, 15-16, and 12-12 and County Council Resolution 18-317, will be subject to the
EFSF - which is an upward adjustment of 5% over FY19 fees.
Both DPS Fees and Impact tax increases will also go into effect on July 1, 2019.
