Summer Use of School Facilities

General reservation requests for use of school facilities during Summer 2018 will be accepted beginning May 1, 2017, via ActiveMONTGOMERY . As previously announced, community use will not be permitted at public school facilities on primary Election Day, June 26, 2018. The last day for general summer use of school buildings is August 10, 2018, to allow cleaning of school buildings. Please note some high school facilities may have to close much earlier for cleaning.

Large Events Planned for 2018-2019 School Year

Reservation requests for large events desiring to use public school facilities during the summer should be submitted via large events application form located at our Resource page between May 1 and May 15 each year in order to receive due priority and advanced placement where applicable. Requests of this nature may NOT be done via ActiveMONTGOMERY.

Survey: Safe and Secure School Facilities

The Interagency Coordinating Board for the Community Use of Public Facilities (ICB/CUPF) and Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) are partnering to promote safe use of school property and security of children participating in after-school and weekend activities. Our first objective is to assess what steps community groups are taking to protect their participants and others who may be in the building simultaneously and who may interact with one another. Please take a few minutes to share your organization’s efforts, to help us identify other ways to protect children and adults on school property. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Click here to participate in the survey.

Facility Fee Assistance Program

The Facility Fee Assistance program helps nonprofit organizations and informal not for profit community groups pay for the use of public schools, libraries or County office buildings. This assistance is only for programs providing a service that primarily benefits vulnerable youth or limited income individuals and families. Recent changes to the guidelines for this program have been expanded to include the use of gyms and auditoriums in the schools and will now cover some of the cost for weekend activities. The Community Use of Public Facilities (CUPF) administers the program and we encourage anyone that is currently using our facilities for a program they believe may be eligible to contact us. Also, contact us if you are interested in starting a new program that will primarily benefit vulnerable youth or limited income individuals and their families. Contact us at (240) 777-2718 and find more detailed information here.
