Dedication and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Will Rename the Bethesda Library to Honor Connie Morella
Saturday, April 14; 10 a.m.
7400 Arlington Road, Bethesda
A dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held to rename and reopen the newly refreshed Montgomery County Public Libraries’ Connie Morella Library, formerly called the Bethesda Library. The library will be renamed to honor Connie Morella.
County Executive Ike Leggett will join Morella for the ceremony along with Council President Hans Riemer; U.S. Rep. Jamie B. Raskin; Director of Department of General Services David Dise; Acting Director of Montgomery County Public Libraries Anita Vassallo; Bruce Adams Director of Montgomery County’s Office of Community Partnerships; Friends of the Library Bethesda Chapter, President Joan Greenbaum; Connie Morella Library Manager Nancy Benner and community members.
Journalist, author and friend Cokie Roberts will make remarks on behalf of Morella.
The library will open immediately following the ceremony.
PARKING: Free parking is available at Metropolitan Garage located at 7601 Woodmont Avenue. A free shuttle service will provide transportation to and from the parking garage from 9:30 a.m. through noon. Parking is available for individuals with disabilities who have a state issued accessibility placard or license plates.
