The 4th Annual Montgomery County GreenFest is Scheduled for May 5; Registration is now Open for Event Exhibitors and Vendors

The 4th Annual Greenfest, Montgomery County’s largest environmental festival, will take place on Saturday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event will be held at Jesup Blair Local Park located at 900 Jesup Blair Drive in Silver Spring. Online registration is open now for exhibitors and vendors interested in becoming one of the 100 groups on display during the festival.

Greenfest is designed to create opportunities for residents, businesses, nonprofits and neighbors to come together, share ideas and learn about local environmental initiatives. This year’s event will offer a wide variety of activities to appeal to the whole family, from hands-on learning opportunities and live music and dance performances to tree climbing for kids. Montgomery Parks is this year’s site host, and all the activities and exhibitors will be under pop-up tents in Jesup Blair Local Park. Parking will be available at the Montgomery College East Garage and nearby County parking lots.

Businesses, non-profit organizations, farmers, artisans and food truck vendors who desire to have their organization and products seen by hundreds of County residents must apply online at montgomerycountygreenfest.org/exhibit. Options are available for exhibitors without their own tents. Payment is not required at the time of registration, but must be paid in full by April 20 to ensure space.

Greenfest generally attracts more than 1,000 attendees. The 2017 event, hosted by the City of Gaithersburg in Bohrer Park, featured participants enthusiastically mingling with exhibitors from across the County and enjoying cooking demonstrations and music, while children explored an interactive “Stream Maze” and games.

The Montgomery County GreenFest is planned by a coalition of partners; including the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection, Montgomery Parks, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, the cities of Gaithersburg, Takoma Park and Rockville; University of Maryland Extension, Montgomery College, Montgomery County Public Schools, and three local community green groups: Bethesda Green, One Montgomery Green, and Poolesville Green.
