You Can Now Access the Online Multi-Family Annual Recycling Report System!
Dear Multi-Family Property Representative:
The online Multi-Family Annual Report system in back online and ready for you to begin creating your Annual Recycling and Waste Reduction Reports.
The Division of Solid Waste Services encourages all multi-family properties to file their annual recycling report online to reduce paper usage and mailing costs and to streamline the overall reporting and verification process. To file your report on-line, visit www.montgomerycountymd.gov/recycling and click on “Apartment/Condominium Recycling Program (TRRAC).” We have already created an account for your property, so click on “Send me my password.” If you have an account, an e-mail will be sent immediately that will include your password. If you do not have an account, the system will let you know right away, and you can request a new account. We will get back to you within one business day with your temporary password. After you file your report, please remember to print a copy of the report for your records; however, you will not need to mail or fax a printed copy to our office. When you file online again in future years, you will be able to view your previous year reports and track your property’s recycling achievements.
Montgomery County Executive Regulation 15-04AM requires all multi-family properties to submit an annual recycling and waste reduction report to the County that describes recycling activities and solid waste generation for the previous calendar year. The Annual Multi-Family Recycling & Waste Reduction Report covering calendar year 2013 (January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013) for your property(s) is due to the Division of Solid Waste Services by Saturday, February 1, 2014. Failure to submit the report to the County by this deadline is a Class B violation of Montgomery County Code, subject to fines of up to $150.00 per day the report is late.
Please note that according to Executive Regulation 15-04AM, all multi-family properties are required to recycle Mixed Paper (including cardboard), Commingled Materials (plastic bottles, containers, jars, tubs, lids, pails, buckets, flower pots, reusable containers and #1 PET plastic packaging such as clamshell containers, trays, deli containers, domes, cups and lids; aluminum cans and foil products; bi-metal steel/tin cans; empty non-hazardous aerosol cans; and glass bottles and jars), Scrap Metal, Yard Trim, and Christmas Trees. You must include recycling data for all five categories of these materials. Incomplete reports will be returned to the filer for completion. The annual recycling and waste reduction report documents your property’s recycling and solid waste (refuse) tonnages, staff and resident education activities, and waste reduction efforts for the previous calendar year.
The County will review the information submitted on your recycling report, conduct a field verification of the reported information, calculate your property’s recycling rate, and notify you of that rate. If you have any questions regarding multi-family recycling, please e-mail me at david.frank@montgomerycountymd.gov or call me at 240-777-6446. Thank you for your cooperation and for all of your recycling and waste reduction efforts.
Sincerely,
