Governor's Smart Growth Subcabinet will hold a virtual public forum on Wednesday, July 21, at 2:00 p.m. 

The Governor's Smart Growth Subcabinet is holding a virtual public forum for county and municipal elected leaders and planning officials on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The Smart Growth Subcabinet is committed to working together to improve the delivery of programs and services to local communities. Join us on July 21 to learn about four state and local government collaborations, discuss how state involvement and resources were used, and the opportunity for similar initiatives in your community. We are highlighting the following: 

The Town of Grantsville and Grantsville Revitalization Organization in Garrett County
(Lead agency- Maryland Department of Commerce’s Art & Entertainment Program)
 

The Eco-City Farms in Prince George’s County
(Lead Agency- Maryland Department of Agriculture) 

The New Shiloh Village Apartments in Baltimore City
(Lead Agency – Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development) 

The Town of Betterton in Kent County
(Lead agency – Maryland Department of the Environment) 

The presentation will be followed by the statutory public forum providing an opportunity for elected leaders and planning officials to discuss with the subcabinet local government issues relating to activities that affect smart growth, development, neighborhood conservation and resource management.

The Smart Growth Subcabinet oversees and advises on Maryland’s growth policies and laws and works to create, enhance, support, and revitalize sustainable communities across Maryland. Its members will provide updates on land use, environmental, housing, economic development, and transportation issues chosen by county elected officials and staff.
