Maryland Heritage Areas Authority Virtual Hearing

Hearing to be Held to Enlarge the Boundary
of the Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area

(May 25, 2021) BALTIMORE, MD – The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority (MHAA) will hold a virtual public hearing to discuss the request to enlarge the boundary of the Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area (https://www.garrettheritage.com).

The hearing will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. and will include the request to enlarge the boundary of the Mountain Maryland Gateway to the West Heritage Area to include McHenry Community Park, located at 1249 Bumble Bee Road, McHenry, Garrett County.

The hearing will be held virtually. Opponents and proponents of the proposed management plan amendments may attend the hearings via YouTube live stream and also have an opportunity to submit written testimony to staff for the record. Anyone may submit written testimony until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021. Due to the current telework requirements, all submissions of testimony are encouraged to be sent via email to jen.ruffner@maryland.gov.
