Maryland Census 2020

Counting Everyone in the 2020 Census

Census takers are locals hired to help you and everyone in your home be counted in the 2020 Census. These census takers are visiting homes that have not yet responded to the Census. If you’re not home when they visit, you’ll be left with information about how to respond online, by phone, or by mail.

Safety is a priority

Census takers will wear masks and follow local public health guidelines and protocols while completing their work in neighborhoods. You can confirm the identity of a census taker by verifying their photo ID badge and official Census Bureau equipment.

If you respond online or by phone today, it is less likely that a census taker will visit your home to collect your response. The 2020 Census questionnaire only takes about 10 minutes, and is safe and secure. But don’t wait – the Census response deadline is September 30.
