My fellow Marylanders,
We're moving Maryland forward on the issues that matter most to our people, including building more housing, fighting for Maryland families, and strengthening our state’s economy.
Here’s how we've been taking on the housing crisis: I’ve signed two executive orders to cut red tape, speed up permits, and make it easier to build homes, and we announced $17.6 million to create or preserve hundreds of affordable rental homes in seven counties and Baltimore City.
We also announced a record $32 million through our ENOUGH Initiative to fight child poverty in communities across the state. In Frederick alone, this work has brought free vision screenings to over 1,000 students and set up almost 100 mobile produce markets for local families.
In the face of the Trump-Vance Administration’s continued threats to benefits that families depend on, we’ve helped nearly 40,000 Marylanders maintain their access to SNAP. Maryland now ranks among the top 10 states for helping families on SNAP keep their nutrition benefits. And for the third year in a row, our SUN Bucks program has helped feed more than 600,000 students this summer.
And we just closed a deal with Anduril Industries to expand Maryland’s manufacturing industry. This deal will drive $3.7 BILLION in private investment and support around 14,000 jobs, making it the largest private investment our state’s seen in over a decade. This major win builds on the multiple new business expansions we’ve seen over just the last few weeks.
Thank you for your continued support and all you do to make this state a stronger, safer, and better place for those around you.
Your Governor, Wes Moore
