An Update from Governor Larry Hogan



Dear Marylanders,

I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. The State of Maryland is taking decisive action to address the COVID-19 pandemic, and our highest priority is keeping Marylanders safe. As we continue on the road to health and economic recovery, I have no doubt we will emerge from this crisis stronger than ever. 

A wide variety of resources are available to help Marylanders weather this storm:

data Access COVID-19 data. The Maryland Department of Health updates COVID-19 data daily during the 10 a.m. hour, including breakdowns by jurisdiction, ZIP code, and demographic groups. You can find COVID-19 data here.

site Find a COVID-19 testing site near you. With our new interactive map, you can find accessible testing sites that accept walk-in and/or scheduled appointments. Visit the interactive map here.

contact Learn more about contact tracing. Please answer and/or return any calls from “MD COVID.” If you do not have caller ID on your phone, look for the phone number (240) 466-4488. You can access contact tracing information here.

call Call the COVID-19 Hotline. For frequently asked questions, including information about symptoms, how COVID-19 spreads, where you can get tested, and updated statistics for Marylanders, you can call 211.

health Enroll in health coverage. From now until Dec. 15, you can sign up for health insurance using Maryland Health Connection, our state’s health insurance marketplace. To enroll, visit, download the free “Enroll MHC” mobile app, or call 855-642-8572.

unemploy Apply for unemployment insurance. Unemployment insurance can provide economic relief and stability for those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19. To learn about benefits or file a claim, call (877) 293-4125 or visit the Maryland Department of Labor's website.

food Seek food assistance. Marylanders can see if they qualify for nutrition assistance benefits on the Maryland Department of Human Resources website. Access the website here

meal Free and reduced meals. The Maryland State Department of Education can provide three meals a day and a snack to students in need. There are hundreds of meal distribution centers across the state. You can find a meal distribution center here.

text Receive text message updates. To receive alerts, tips, and resources related to COVID-19 and other threats and hazards affecting or that may affect Maryland, text “MdReady” to 898211.


Access translations. Marylanders can access FAQs in seven different languages. COVID-19 resources have also been made available through a Spanish language webpage. Haga clic aquí para obtener recursos de coronavirus en español.


Request your mail-in ballotAll eligible Maryland voters who feel safer voting by mail may request a mail-in ballot for the November general election. Visit the Maryland Board of Elections website or text ‘VBM’ to 77788 to access the mail-in ballot request form. Postage to return your form is free.

med Join the Medical Reserve Corps. The Maryland Responds Reserve Medical Corps is now recruiting active and retired health care professionals, medical students, and other interested volunteers. You can register here.

house Apply for housing relief. The State of Maryland is working to bring rental delinquencies current and provide relief for tenants. ​​​​​For tenant guidance and programs, visit here.

call Register for the senior call check program. The Maryland Department of Aging has a first-in-the-nation, free senior call check program, which provides peace of mind by checking in on seniors living at home alone. Register by calling 1-866-50-CHECK or by visiting this website.
