MD iMAP Template Update

Dear MD iMAP Template Users,

UPDATES TO MD iMAP TEMPLATE

We are pleased to announce the imminent release of a new version of the MD iMAP Template. This new version includes several new features, bug fixes and a brand new look and feel.

Some of the NEW and UPDATED features include:

• NEW Search Features Tool: Search Default Name Field for Layers
• NEW Basemaps: Maryland Six Inch Imagery Now Available
• NEW Viewer Mode: Turn Off Visibility of Left Pane in Published Application
• UPDATED Print Tool: Title and Layout Options Now Available
• UPDATED Query Tool: Query Services of Visible Layers Only
• UPDATED Results Grid: Zoom to Feature From Grid
• UPDATED Draw Tools: Color Options for Outline and Fill
• UPDATED Contents Tab: Available Simplified Legend

Some of the major style changes include:

• Buttons Moved From Horizontal Layout in Map to Vertical Button Bar
• Results Grid Moved to Bottom Pane of Map
• Simplified Style for Dropdowns

TESTING OF UPDATED MD iMAP TEMPLATE THROUGH ArcGIS ONLINE

For those applications using the current version of the MD iMAP Template through ArcGIS Online, a test version with the latest updates is now available. The test version should be used to evaluate functionality of existing applications with the updates to ensure a smooth migration.

To determine if an application is using the current version of the MD iMAP Template through ArcGIS Online, the URL would look like: http://geodata.md.gov/imaptemplate/index.html?appid=<YOUR APP ID>

To test an application using the new version of MD iMAP Template through ArcGIS Online, append the application ID to the following URL:

http://dev.geodata.md.gov/imapbeta/index.html?appid=<YOUR APP ID HERE>

NOTE: The Search Tool and both the Legend and Layers options, in the Contents Tab, will be turned on by default, for testing purposes.  Upon release of the latest version of the template, the Search Tool will be turned off by default and only the Layer list will show in the contents pane.

RELEASE OF UPDATED MD iMAP TEMPLATE

The official version update of the MD iMAP Template through ArcGIS Online and the downloadable GitHub will occur on July 6, 2015.  For users that are working with the current version of the MD iMAP Template through ArcGIS Online, your application will automatically execute the new version on this date.

For those users that wish to continue using the current version of the MD iMAP Template available through ArcGIS Online, it will only be available through GitHub for hosting on independent servers.

NOTE: This is the last major version release of the MD iMAP Template. A launch of the MD iMAP Template through Esri Web App Builder is targeted for January 1, 2016. More details on this transition to come soon.
