New Conservation Officers Step Up to the Challenge

It has been an exciting year for the Maryland Natural Resources Police, as it celebrates its 150th anniversary and looks to the future with enhanced equipment, manpower and technology.

I’ve had the opportunity meet many brave, dedicated professionals through the years, but there is something special to me about a Natural Resources Police officer. Read more.

Results of the annual young-of-year striped bass survey documented healthy reproduction of the state fish. The 2018 index is 14.8, higher than the 65-year average of 11.8.

Approved by the Board of Public Works, the 5.6-acre Pinecrest Local Park in Montgomery County will receive $1 million from Program Open Space Local for a multipurpose field.

The state forest tree nursery is now accepting large-scale planting orders for the spring 2019 season. More than 50 species are available, including 20 "pollinator friendly" options.
