This month's programming at Rocky GapUnless otherwise noted, please email Ranger Katy Barger with any questions. All events are held rain or shine. Last-minute cancellations may occur.


April 3, 17: HIIT with Carey
5:30 p.m. at Hawk's Nest

Change up your workouts with this 45-minute high intensity interval training course instructed by Western Maryland Health System's Carey Moffatt. Carey is an educator, health coach and personal trainer. All fitness levels are encouraged to participate as each move can be adjusted to individual needs.


April 7: Lakeside Loop Hike
Noon at Touch of Nature Parking lot

Join naturalist Katelynn in a 5-mile hike around Lake Habeeb. This is a great hike for all levels! Bring some water and snacks, as this hike will last over two hours. 


April 9, 23: HIIT with Deidra 
5:15 p.m. at Hawk's Nest

Change up your workouts with this 45-minute high intensity interval training course instructed by Western Maryland Health System's Deidra Cornett. Deidra is an educator, health coach and personal trainer. All fitness levels are encouraged to participate as each move can be adjusted to individual needs.


April 10, 24De-stress and Energize Indoor Park Yoga
6 p.m. at Hawk's Nest

Unwind and join Yogafit instructor Samantha for an energizing yoga practice. Meet in the Concession Building Area and bring a mat. Extra mats are available to borrow.


April 14: Gorge Hike
1 p.m. at Touch of Nature parking lot

Hike into the beautiful gorge below the Lake Habeeb spillway to enjoy views of Rocky Gap Run, interesting geology and cool forest shade. This is a short but moderate hike; close-toed shoes are recommended. Bring water and be prepared to climb over rocks and up steep hills with naturalist Megan. 


April 19: Yoga with Leslee
5 p.m. at Hawk's Nest

Enjoy an “all levels” yoga flow with Yogafit instructor, Leslee. We will work on flexibility and strength while calming our mind as we move through a sequence of poses. Modifications of poses offered for beginners!


April 21: Body Blaster workout
9 a.m. at Hawk's Nest

Join Jen Thomas, certified personal trainer and health coach, in this full body group workout class. This class includes body weight, cardio and plyometric training exercises. Designed to increase your core stability, muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance. Have a blast at this fun and energetic class! Bring a mat, small hand weights (if you have them) and water.


April 22: Lakeside Loop Trash Pick up
1 p.m. at Nature Center

What better way to spend Earth Day? Join naturalist Paige for a 5-mile trash pickup hike around Lake Habeeb. We will provide gloves and trash bags. Great hike for all levels! 


April 26: Cardio Core
5:30 p.m. at Hawk's Nest

Cardio + core = one awesome workout! Jen Thomas, certified personal trainer and health coach, will help you torch calories while working every inch of your body, with a special emphasis on the core. This workout brings it all: cardio to strengthen your heart and boost metabolism, and core work for a strong, toned midsection! Bring a mat and water.


April 28: Evitt's Homesite Hike
Noon at Touch of Nature Parking Lot

Join naturalist Katelynn in hiking up Evitt's Mountain! This difficult hike is a 5-mile roundtrip up and down the mountain, climbing more than 1,000 feet in 2.5 miles! Bring water, sturdy shoes and plan to spend a couple of hours enjoying this challenging hike!
